Pastor Horace Wilson |
He is a native of Newberry, South Carolina, where he attended public schools. He later attended South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science Public Administration.
Later he attended Limestone College, Gaffney, South Carolina, where he received a degree in Social Work and currently is a licensed Social Worker for the State of South Carolina. He received a Master of Divinity from Gardner Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC. He is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling at Gardner Webb University. Pastor Wilson served ten years proudly in the United States Army as a commissioned officer in Air Defense Artillery. His tours of duty include Fort Bliss El Paso, Texas, Ramstein, Germany, and Fort Benning, Georgia. He is married to his childhood sweetheart Barbara Boyd of Prosperity, South Carolina, and to their union are four children, Tony, Darryl, Bryan, and Bethany. He has been the proud Pastor of the Foster's Grove Baptist Church in Cherokee Springs since 1993. He believes in preaching and teaching about the greatness of our God and His desire to be in a relationship with us through His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Pastor Wilson is the former Moderator of the Spartanburg County Baptist Association, and he is an employee of Spartanburg District 7 at Cleveland Academy of Leadership, where he serves as a social worker. Important to Pastor Wilson is his salvation and God's call on his life to uplift the Body of Christ through the Word of God. His favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." |
